Dr. Barnett is a lifelong resident of Kenosha. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 1987 and Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1991. Dr. Deb opened Barnett-Wamboldt Eyecare in 2005 in order to provide her patients with a more personal level of eyecare services. She welcomes patients of all ages from infants to seniors and has a special interest in children’s vision.
Dr. Deb has been a member of both the American Optometric Association and Wisconsin Optometric Association since 1987. She served as President for the WOA Southeastern Optometric society from 2005 until 2013 when it was merged into the WOA Milwaukee Area Optometric Society where she is currently serving as Vice President. Dr. Barnett participates in charitable optometric programs including Vision USA ( www.woa-eyes.org/vision-usa-public ), Walker’s Point Community Clinic ( www.woa-eyes.org/aurora-walkers-point-community-clinic) , and InfantSEE ( www.infantsee.org ).
Dr. Deb is also active in the community as a member & current Vice President of the Kenosha Noon Lions Club and a member of The Kenosha Dream Playground Project committee. Dr. Barnett is married to Jeff Wamboldt, a Kenosha police officer, and has two children. In her free time, Deb enjoys spending time attending any activity her children are involved in. The Wamboldt family are active members of Lord of Life Lutheran church.
Melissa has worked in the optical field since 1998. She joined the staff at BW Eyecare in the spring of 2012 and is an expert in frame selection & adjustment.
Joy has been a colleague of Dr. Barnett's since 1992. She is an American Board of Opticians certified optician and has worked in many optical settings from high-end boutiques to administering industrial safety glass programs.
